I was medically discharged

by Jack Barden September 16, 2016

February 2014 I was medically discharged.

I had a degenerated, protruding, torn and leaking disc in my L5/S1. Becoming unfit and depressed a person I could hardly recognise and knowing I wasn't going to fix my problems on my own I decided to Have a spinal fusion for my lower back in January 2015. The decision turned my life around and returned me to a better and more improved version of my former self.

I was discharged - Status Resfeber

Through my physiologist Jono Freeman https://jfhealthandperformance.comand my surgeon Dr David Johnson http://citytocoastneurosurgery.com.au I managed to have a successful surgery and was able to push myself to a full recovery. My rehab will continue for the rest of my life, the strengthening and conditioning of my lower back will be ongoing in order to prevent it from further injury.

After 3 months of rehab, after surgery, I threw a 35kg pack on my back and went backpacking through South America.

Keep pushing forward brothers.

There is no obstacle too big for you!!
