At the age of 19 I joined the Royal Australian Infantry and was soon posted to Brisbane. At the age of 21 I was deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months and soon noticed some problems in my back. Fast-forward two years and I was medically discharged due to back problems. After slipping into a depressed state and me being a stubborn bloke that I am I decided that heavy medication and a copious amounts of drinking would be the answer. Turns out I was wrong, who would of thought. Finally made a decision and to have surgery on my back, as soon as I had finished my rehab I was on the first plane overseas and I have been travelling as much as possible ever since. I always looked to my mates for motivation, as I knew their stories and how far they have come and they have helped me without even knowing it. This is my chance to help others by motivating them to push forward even in the hardest of situations. It’s wicked to have you all joining us on this epic journey, thanks legends
Grew up in Penrith playing rugby league. Left school when I was 16 to begin a carpentry apprenticeship. Moved to Brisbane when was 19 and finished my apprenticeship. Travelled to Europe with a mate for 3 months and thats where I found my love for travel. Joined Artillery in the army when I was 21. Did a tour in Afghanistan in 2012/2013, came home and travelled South America for 2 months. End of 2013 travelled south east Asia where I met. Left the army in 2014, packed everything up and moved to London. Worked in London as a carpenter then got a job in Saudi Arabia. Worked there for 4 months then travelled Eastern Europe and Central America for almost 18 months. Came back to Australia broke and for two good mates weddings. Met up with Jack for a ‘few' beers in Sydney and I told him my plans for travelling India, in the space of a few minutes he convinced me to ditch my plans for India and go to Norway with him…… and now I’m in Norway feeling snow for the first time in my life and its f#@%ing cold!!
